One of the great wonderful aspects of Franci’s and Will’s wedding yesterday was to have Charlotte Jenks Lewis as the wedding photographer. This wonderful photo of Will’s family members playing with the parasols Franci provided guests is such a delightful moment that Charlotte captured and shared on her Facebook page today. I cannot wait to see what Charlotte does with their wedding photos. Friends asked me today how I would rate the experience of Franci and Will’s wedding. Well, a 10 of course! Perfect in every way! We had sunshine we didn’t expect, and a bit of rain at the most perfect moment while we were having dinner under the tent, and then of course, why not a rainbow so the bride and groom could be captured in a shot by Charlotte under the rainbow???? Today has been a pretty happy day of still being surrounded by family and friends. Frank and I went at 7 a.m. in the cool morning back to the venue, stripped of most everything by the tents and tables, to get the flowers and a few things left behind. It was sweet to be with Frank post-wedding, to be at the edge of Tisbury Great Pond with the birds remembering the the wedding in all its happiness and surprise. Then quickly back to our house to host a breakfast for all the wedding guests featuring an Island specialty, Back Door Donuts, fruit and coffee. I was surprised and delighted that most of the guests came and we had company until the early afternoon. Wave was in the pool swimming the whole time. Then the bridal party and all the rest of us had pizzas in the afternoon sunshine, and I got a nap before we went to my dear friend’s house for a special post wedding gathering of dear friends. Well, this day couldn’t have been better. I was too tired to write about the wedding yesterday, but I will catch up with the details as the week goes on. Had so say goodbye to loved ones, family and friends today, but there are many of us still here, our two joined families enjoying this shared home with the bride and groom. Happiness abounds.
