I love July, my favorite month. Woke with the sun, Frank gone. Quiet house. Sweet and quiet, full of sun. I worked on revising a poem for workshop tomorrow; only needed a few tweaks. At least for now. Then went for my swim. My friend visiting from San Francisco came by and we went for a long walk through the woods, past where she used to live, and went to the pond and talked and talked. Went out to lunch, and then said goodbye until next time. I shopped for plants; two more planters for Frank’s tennis court to match the other two, and I found some azalea and rhododendron shrubs on sale for my side garden where I have a mostly shady spot. They won’t bloom until next year, and they’re small, but they will grow into the space where I need them. Late afternoon pickle with Franci and Will and their friend who was the officiant at their wedding ceremony. I love playing pickle outdoors in the sunshine and warmth. Then Frank and I made a birthday dinner for him and for Will; Jacob stayed and my other son and daughter came and we had such a fun talk at dinner, even though Wave was home, he fell asleep and missed dinner. We did our birthday appreciations for Frank and Will, and it was really special. Such a sweet night.
