Swamp Milkweed
Saw this butterfly on my morning walk near the buttonbush and the swamp milkweed. The swamp milkweed blooms a bit later than common milkweed. I’ve tried to get it to grown in my yard near the common milkweed a couple of times, with no success. There are pods now on my garden milkweed plants. And monarchs are flying happily around the yard. After my walk Frank and I went to a memorial service for his colleague’s brother. It was huge—a very special man. Very moving. What a sunny day, a beautiful summer day, and strange to be inside a church witnessing such a large loss of life when everything about the weather outside was so cheerful. We did errands and enjoyed having time together. Pickle ball today with Franci, Will, Frank and my son, very fun, lots of laughs and heat. A cooling dip in Farm Pond afterwards. I was happy to get my newsletter written and sent today. House quiet, missing Wave. He’s home tomorrow!
