#NewThisDay Writing From My Photo Stream

Meadow

Clouds, smoke-sky returns. Also, sky threatens rain most of the day. And it does rain, which is good. The plants are very happy. I don’t get out for my walk until dinnertime, actually, unusual for me. I start work on a new poem this morning before getting ready to host Franci and Will and his parents for wedding present opening. Frank is busy fixing his tractor so I carry all the boxes and boxes upstairs full of their unopened surprises. We have fruit and pastries and Wave watches and listens from the sidelines. Not so exciting to a five-year-old. Many of the boxes will stay here until they have a bigger place. So I help them carry all the gifts back downstairs! I’m tired today and the weather doesn’t give me energy. It’s okay. It’s a day for rest and family time. I received two more proofs today, a poem and two art images. Publishing in different journals soon. The rain comes and after that, when everything is still damp, I go for my walk through the wet flowering meadows and thickets. A favorite part of the day is when Wave, Will, Franci and I play acting out feelings. We each get to demonstrate how we express anger, sadness. . . we are having fun looking at our quirks and characteristics. We get to see, in a loving and fun way, our characteristic ways of expressing frustration, resistance, normalizing our feelings. Laughing at ourselves. Wave acts out how he feels about getting out the water, of course. Will acts out how I act in pickle when I’m hungry for dinner and I miss a shot. Franci acts out how Will is when he’s fixing his motorcycle or car and something goes wrong.
