#NewThisDay Writing From My Photo Stream
I saw two monarchs on one walk, so that’s promising. Relief to wake up to clear sky again, although I know the smoke is severe in many other places right now, in cities, and I’m sorry that this is happening to so many. It’s horrible to have air quality so disrupted. Health and beauty are effected. Today I didn’t get into the car. I had a nice visit from my dear friend, a chance to catch up. And I worked on my latest poem which is improving and I got really encouraging comments from a poetry friend. This afternoon Wave walked with me to Farm Pond. Which means, I gave him a piggy back much of the way, but we had good conversation and it was worth it. He swam so happily, meeting kids in the water. He does so well with that. I was happy to hang on the beach for a good chunk of afternoon, happy watching the children play in the water. Both my daughters there. Then I walked home, and I logged a lot of happy walking miles today. Pickle with Franci, Will, and my nephew’s fiance and dinner following. Pure summer. I am almost done with the Gertrude Stein bio. I have a group of four poems coming out in a journal and I got the proofs for that and what’s interesting is how different each is from the other. Tomorrow Will’s parents come in the morning and Franci and Will will open their gifts!
