Cone Flower in the Rose Kennedy Greenway Garden Boston
Ever since Wave was a toddler we’ve enjoyed taking him on a random Friday night into the city to play in the sprinklers for kids on the Rose Kennedy Greenway. Tonight was the perfect Friday night to go with him and our daughter. First, dinner at our favorite pizza restaurant, Quatro, in the North End. Then hazelnut lattes after dinner from the Thinking Cup coffee shot a few doors down. The sidewalks were crowded with tourists and and families out for a stroll and a meal and some pastry. After coffee, we got coconut cake slices from Bova’s bakery in the North End to bring home. And then Wave got to run and play in the sprinklers with the other kids. It was warm and cloudy and busy and pleasant. So many beautiful pollinators int he Greenway garden. We drove cheerfully home, talking to Wave about kindergarten. He found out today his class assignment and his best buddy, our neighbor, will be in his class! So they will go from the bus stop at the end of our shared driveway right to their kindergarten classroom together. Today was a less busy day. I walked to Farm Pond, took my swim around the island. No geese! But there was a bit of a chop. Walked home in the sunshine. No swim with Wave today, sadly, but he got one with his mother and one with Frank. Met with my memoir coaching client. I love her book and love working with her on this project. She always makes such great progress. I have five poems published today in Issue 16 of Lily Poetry Review. Haven’t received my copy yet, but I’m pleased that these are in print.
