Oh, the quiet house. Wave departs early, before I am awake. It was so quiet i slept. Sent my poem off to workshop a bit later than I wanted. But I was glad for the sleep. Low clouds today and cooler. I had such a lovely happy walk. Graffiti reflecting on the Charles at the landing where I like to stop, a shady spot under the trestle bridge. And the leaves, the autumn leaves are a little bit coming. A nice moment in the late afternoon. My youngest came by and sat near me on her computer while I was on mine, we were both working. And then we got up to take a stroll across the field to the river, stretch our legs, but stopped first on the deck where my other daughter was suddenly sitting and we had a nice visit, the three of us. The older one just getting ready to go off to a client for a birth! So a new baby is coming into the world tonight. My youngest and I continued to the quiet river, the water low, we’re nearly in drought. Not a touch of visible current. The heron flew up from our landing and to its perch on a ghost tree as we watched. A pileated woodpecker visiting the yard making its wonderful call. These are things that made me feel very happy today. Thank you August.
