#NewThisDay Writing From My Photo Stream
Late afternoon riverview
Tonight, well, late late afternoon, before dinner, Frank and I went to the river to do some clean up of a tree and brush. In a recent storm a big limbed tree blew down blocking the trail to the river’s edge. Dinner was prepped and made. Homemade lentil soup and rice, and so I decided to change my clothes and go out again. The rain stopped earlier in the day. Frank offered to join me. He brought the tractor and the chain saw. And the light was spectacular on the autumn trees. We both stopped to take in a good long look. And then we worked for an hour together and it was very special. Wave and Perri ate while we were out since I left everything ready and went missing! Frank and I ate in front of the fire—didn’t need it. Such a mile day. The rain fell so heavily this morning. Started when I was out clearing brush and I stayed out until it got quite wet. Workshop this morning and evening. I was kind of haywire with this poem. Emotional. Reactive. Oh well In the afternoon I enjoyed just doing laundry. Putting the raw lentils on to boil. Made sugar cookie dough for cutout cookes, Halloween themed, with Wave. Left the dough in the fridge. He wanted to do other things and it was fine by me. The cookies will get made. Workshop tonight and shared my poem again. It’s helpful to hear feedback from different readers. Ended the evening feeling better about the poem and Wave came in for fighting dinosaurs. Just the medicine I needed. Oh, this light. This autumn light.
