#NewThisDay Writing From My Photo Stream
No alarm set for my birthday morning. But it’s not quite 8:00 a.m. when I wake up. Wave is soon beside me. We are playing Minecraft. I am not familiar with game. What I enjoy is his pleasure in teaching me, teasing me through a portal where I will NOT get any birthday balloons. I had a dream I needed to dive into a large foamy ocean wave and swim across a body of water. I was a little hesitant, careful. Making sure I knew I could actually swim this wave. And then a guide kind of pushed me in, and I did just fine. That set the tone or me, a lovely birthday. Tired from yesterday, and quite happy. Lots of treats, messages, and sweetness in the day. A visit from a dear friend with lovely roses. A package to open from my Ukrainian friend full of fun items. And a t shirt from friends that was PERECT or a swimmer like me. A necklace Frank brought me from his trip to New Mexico—lovely. Not just the tree trimmer! Best part of the day, one of the best, playing pickle with Franci and Will on our finished court for the first time. Being out in the true autumn, almost November, past the foliage peak, surrounded by dear trees I love so much and feel so intimately connected to––and the call of two great horned owls at dusk. And winning - we beat them twice! And the cool moist air and a birthday dinner ahead. Walking across the yard after it’s too dark to play anymore, toward the house, toward dinner. Everyone there. Lots of laughs. and then getting my birthday appreciations from everyone—especially satisfying. My daughter Perri saying “I love how you are so intelligent and fun to talk to.” Swoon. How lucky I am. Mostly teasing from Wave. Franci suggested also that everyone go around the table and offer one line of a spontaneous poem for me. Which was sweet and hilarious. How lucky I feel for this birthday. I closed my eyes and said thank you to my mom and dad for bringing me into this world. Under the birthday crescent moon.
