#NewThisDay Writing From My Photo Stream

Mountain In the morning wetlands

The cold has a bite. I help Wave have breakfast and then go out for a walk in the cold morning. There is ice at the edge of the river and ice in the wetlands. No mallards in sight, but lots of birds breakfasting on berries. I call my aunt to see how she is and plan to see her later this week. She is always her cheerful self. I have sent off a poem to workshop before walking. It’s a good workshop and I get feedback for my poem which is almost there. In the afternoon I have work to do on my Play Lab Showcase, but I have time for a short nap. I am woken by a face and a voice telling me that he wants a cat. It’s Wave. When I tell him this request must go under consideration in the thinking vault he is inconsolable. My daughter apologizes. They have been talking about cats all the ride home. I am not a cat lover. So there is a very very very small chance I’m going to be in favor of getting a cat. Still, his longing is compelling. Fortunately, Papa has picked up an Advent calendar that features a small, daily chocolate. This does the trick and the question of a cat is tabled for today. Casual dinner which is restful for me. Frank puts the lights on the fat Christmas tree and he and I have our dinner on our laps in front of the tv. In the darkness of almost winter. Poetry workshop with my friends tonight. Another poem to tweak.

A field of seeds
