#NewThisDay Writing From My Photo Sream
Barred Owl
How lucky I felt when the barred owl swooped up from the wetlands to a pine tree above me. I was out for my morning walk when we had this wonderful, eye-to-eye encounter. This was the best shot I could get with my iphone. It really was a special siting of each other. There were the pair of herons, of course. And a very pleasant morning. Light coming through patchy clouds. Last day of April. I felt un-pressured by the day. I swam and ran two groups. Good news about images of mine came today, too. The Brooklyn Review has selected one of my ice images from the brook for the cover of their spring print issue. Yay. And Smoky Quartz, a Monadnock region of New Hampshire literary journal selected three of my photos as well. And all day at my desk beside the open door to my balcony a house finch, a male with a red head, came to sit and sing to me awhile before flying off. And back again. . . again. . . again. Tonight, played fighting dinosaurs with Wave to close out a lovely day with extra happiness.
