#NewThisDay Writing From My Photo Stream
After flying all night, we arrive at our hotel in Athens for two nights. I have not slept and it’s very hot. Our hotel is fine, in the city, a small pool and rooftop lounge. Frank and I walk around a bit to stretch our legs, and rest. Tonight is so special. After resting, we meet our friends at dinnertime outdoors on the roof for a lengthy appetizers and dinner of hours. The air is soft. The brightly colored oleander blooms prettily from the rooftops. We have, at dinner, a wonderful view of the Acropolis. We have the wonderful pleasure of giving and receiving updates of travels and arrivals and everyone’s journey here. The food is delicious, the sky is dramatic. We have arrived. One friend more joins us tomorrow from Geneva. Tomorrow, we have a tour and will celebrate Geoff’s birthday at dinner. No swim for me today. The pool was a bit crowded, but I did get to stretch my legs after the nine hours on the plane. Tomorrow some of us will meet early for coffee and then a walk to start the day.
