#NewThisDay Writing From My Photo Stream
The Island of Symi, Greece
Kelly, it’s 7:06, Frank said and woke me out of the sleep I had finally dropped into. I had planned to wake up at 6:30, walk with friends by 7:00. I hurried and got up to the deck. No one else there! I was not the only one who did not sleep much. For me, I think it was the very late dinner. Our cabin is cool and small, two single beds, quite comfortable. After a quick coffee three of us walked the old city for about an hour. Our boat was due to depart after breakfast. Just the nine of us around the table for our first breakfast, fresh fruit and juice and pastries and porridge and it was just right. Then we did depart from the Island of Rhodes to a cove where we anchored most of the day near the island of Symi. We were remote and it was quiet, the mountains blue around us, the water serene, clean, darker than turquoise and very clear. I jumped right in and swam. We all swam and Frank water skied and I napped more than once. I had a very sleepy pleasant, happy day. Nothing to do but relax and enjoy the scenery. Tonight, for the moment, we are docked in the port and had another fabulous dinner next to the water. At midnight tonight we will set off for our next destination. We will spend the day tomorrow anchored in another quiet cove. And I know I will sleep well tonight.
