#NewThisDay Writing From My Photo Stream

Our gulet sped across the Mediterranean last night from midnight on and made for some interesting sleeping for all on board. For me and Po, we were in heaven, rocked and comfortable in our twin beds in our own cabins. I slept the best I’ve slept! Frank was comfortable, but he had to arrange pillows around himself to stay stable and not get knocked out of bed on his twin in our cabin. One our friends, in the bow, was tossed out of bed and had a window wall break. They were safe, without any sleep. Others fared better, but no one slept as soundly and happily as me and Po. I was so pleased to find that I had no seasickness. I didn’t get up until we were anchored in a cove at 9:00 a.m.! A lovely morning. A wonderful breakfast on the deck. Views to the hike we would take mid-day up the island of Chora to a castle overlooking the sea. The tender (a Zodiak) ran us over to shore where we climbed the beautiful white-washed charming village up the steps and steps and steps to the castle for the spectacular views! It was very hot. The sun was hot on our backs. I had already had one good swim, and when we got back to the boat for lunch I had another, and in the later afternoon, after another delicious nap, another swim. The water is blue and cold, a little choppy, and fabulous to feel on my skin under the hot sun. The village was so blindingly white. So clean. So sweet. Lots of laughter in our group today. Relaxation, generosity of deep friendship, and great intimacy and happiness. We have had our dinner on the boat. Lots of Greek salads and sea bass. Perfection.
