#NewThisDay Writing From My Photo Stream

Another gorgeous day, and early wake-up. Worked on poem revision, sent it off. Played with Wave, made eggs and pancakes, raced around the driveway, the usual pre-school ritual that I appreciate getting to perform. My swim under the sun, almost alone in the warm pool. Poetry workshop feedback kind of went off the rails, though. And, even so, the turmoil can be very meaningful. Feedback offered about my poem in a clumsy way, and it doesn’t feel good. So, I had a walking lunch. I had to transition quickly from poetry to running my monthly Ukrainian group, so I made my sandwich and walked outside under the trees and by the river, and smelled the delicious scents and felt the nearness of the green and heard the birds. A cleansing. I felt a tremendous sense of peace. And prepared to be centered and present with my Ukrainian friends. It was a wonderful group, very fruitful processing for all. It’s nice to have trusted friends in a poetry workshop, so I got an excellent de-brief of the workshop with my friend while driving to pick up Wave. I got so much clarity and inspiration from our conversation to explore the feelings from the workshop. So, that the upset happened is enriching. That’s an elegant process, really. Wave and I had our usual laughter and play all the way to the pool. And we swam and he found friends and it was sunny and cheerful. Tonight I ran my Tuesday night writers and there was so much deep connection and learning about writing. Every piece of the day ends up being fruitful, meaningful, necessary.
