#NewThisDay Writing From My Photo Stream
Frank and I wake in Ogunquit, our usual early hour. It’s very cool, in the 50’s, but sunny. Out for coffee, and then he goes to tennis and I have my coffee in the hotel lobby overlooking the pool and the ocean in the quiet hour before people wake up. I work on a poem. Soon enough, a friend comes down, she is studying for the Bar and I give her a shoulder rub in the bright morning. Then my daughter and dear friend come down and we go for our mother/daughter morning walk along the Marginal Way, along the cliffs. Its a gorgeous and chatty walk. So nice to be together. This is a wonderful wedding weekend. We go out for breakfast downtown, walk back to the hotel, spend morning on Ogunquit Beach. The sun is hot, the water cold. It’s such a lovely day in Maine. The wedding is on the edge of the sea at the Cliff House. It’s an Armenian wedding, and there is much dancing and joy. Our daughters, friends from early childhood, grown up. Getting married. Still friends, and us, the parents, still friends too.
