#NewThisDay Writing From My Photo Streak

Frank woke me when he left at 6 for tennis. I had finally fallen asleep in the early hours. So I thought I’d try and sleep in. I couldn’t. He left and I walked in the warm, fresh, salty morning with my computer the short walk into town to a bakery and sat outside with coffee working on a poem. The poem isn’t a strong poem, and I hoped to work on it later today, but haven’t done so. Just not much room in my weekend for concentration, focus. I walked the Marginal Way by myself, taking a few pictures. Happy to meet the butterfly weed and the tiger lilies, so orange! I really have enjoyed the views of Ogunquit, and the peak of summer wildflowers and lush growth by the edge of the sea. We drove home quickly and early, no traffic, and Wave and my daughter were happy to see us. My plan for Farm Pond afternoon with Wave worked perfectly. Hot sun, warm water, and plenty of kids to play with in the water. We played Marco Polo and all kinds of games and he was happy. Frank made an excellent dinner, so we got home hungry and Wave devoured his crab cakes (homemade) salmon and shrimp. He goes to gymnastics camp for the week. So, Perri, Franci, me, Will and Wave acted out a scene of a gymnastics camp, first day, with a shy kid getting dropped off by his mother. Just in case he has some normal anxiety for his first day ever in this new camp. Frank was audience. We had fun. Did it help? We will see. Frank went out to mow the lawn and there was a crazy accident involving an errant lacrosse ball hidden in deep grass being launched through the air, a projectile, kicked up by the mower, and through the dining room and across the dining room where it lodged itself in the wall with a gaping hole. There was glass everywhere. Thank God no one was hurt! We four adults spent the next hour cleaning up glass and covering the window after Frank removed the broken glass. Wave watched, astonished and bit thrilled by the disaster. Thunderstorms may come tonight and I dread them. But the glass disaster was a proper warm-up.
