Wild Tansy

Dove into writing a blog first thing this morning. A long one, and got it sent out before breakfast, before walk, before swim. Return o the sun. I love wild tansy. It’s such a simple and cheerful wildflower. August bloom. I walked to the pond via the railroad tracks so that I wouldn’t have to cross the beaver after flow. The water was calm and glassy. I saw a young woman giving a swimming lesson to a couple of kids as I crossed to take my swim, and when I got back she was about to take her swim so I talked to her and enlisted her to give Wave a couple of lessons to work on his strokes next week. She’s really sweet and I think it will give him something fun to do. He can work on his back stroke with her. Worked a bit on poems today and also transplanted some plants and watered. So happy for sunshine. Tonight, into Cambridge to an author talk at Harvard Book store in the Square. Kate Price, author of the newly published, “This Happened to Me,” interviewed by the renowned author/psychologist, Judith Herman. it was an honor to meet Judith and have her sign my copy of her most book, "Truth and Repair.

“If traumatic disorders are afflictions of the powerless, then empowerment must be a central principle of recovery. If trauma shames and isolates, then recovery must take place in community.”
