#NewThisDay Writing From My Photo Stream
Sunset, Playa Guiones
Windy today. Quite windy. I woke early with Frank and worked on my poem revision for Monday. it’s coming along. I felt that I started to move into some magic. Went for my long walk on the beach. Wind so strong at times, it blows the waves sideways. And me also! But very pleasant. As usual warm, but not hot. Tide was way out. I came home and got a workshop proposal out on deadline and worked some more on my poem. Cleaned up from last night. New arrivals today. My daughter and son and friends arrived for this next week by van, and we hurried them down to the beach for sunset swim. Which was spectacular. Wind still up, and there were clouds and great beauty. Waves big. We all stayed in the water to well after sunset. Quiet, casual dinner here at home. Travelers tired and happy. And then good news as I looked at CNN tonight. Judge ordered the release of Liam Ramos and his father in a very moving opinion. This week, my daughter says, instead of lighting a candle, our ritual will be to take a dive into the water in honor of those being harmed by ICE and we state our thoughts aloud to each other before we dive in and that’s what the three of us did tonight.
