Tuesday, Mary Under Moon

It is out. The manuscript has been submitted. Three places today. Poetry workshop this morning after some brush work, after Chippie time, after some early raking, after making Wave breakfast. Final tweaks of a poem. I am ready to send and I do. It takes all day, but buttons are pressed by tonight. And last night in poetry with my friends I felt the realization of excitement, inspired by my friend’s poem. Now that the manuscript is “finished” (just this part of being finished, a temporary finish) I can do anything I want. I mean with poems, specifically. It’s wide open. I have completed this body of work. Sixty poems on this project. And it feels complete. Polished. Rich and imperfect and well done. After sending the manuscript I worked on this collage about Mary praying under the moon.
