Frank in his tennis match
Frank falls asleep as soon as his head hits the pillow. After a day of leading a team of helpers landscaping today he played in his club’s doubles and singles finals. Won the doubles, lost the singles. Played hard and well. Kids all came to watch at least part of his matches, including Wave, and I got to be there for both as well. Set up dinner before running to the nearby club so we could eat when he was done. It was fun. I know he wanted to win the singles, but he lost to a friend and they are such a nice bunch of guys. It’s so friendly, these hard competitions. I got up with Chippie to let him sleep, but Frank rose early and we had our coffee with Chippie. Frank has a morning ritual, sitting with Chippie and loving him up. Then we walked him out to the river. The sky was pink. I was overtired today; energy low. Let it be so. But I did start a poem that has been on my mind. Perhaps I will get a draft of it tomorrow. A nice cozy dinner to cheer Frank home at the table by the fire.
