Franci and Will at Tisbury Great Pond

Alarm at 5 and the journey begins. Out of the house with Frank, Will, Franci, Wave to get to the ferry, and we are not on time. We manage to get on the next ferry, though, without too much trouble. It’s sunny and quite nice and warm and we park the cars on the hold and head up to the open deck. Wave has been waiting for his traditional ferry treats and Grammy is generous. He is so happy. We’re all happy! Relieved from the packing and organizing we have a relaxing, sun filled ferry ride. Then, off to Mocha Mott’s for favorite coffee and we go with Franci and Will to see the venue, the field, with the tents set up. While Franci and Will and Frank check out the tents and the plan, Wave and I change into bathing suits and jump into Tisbury Great Pond, wearing our water shoes because of the oyster shells. The water is fresh and cool and the sun is hot. The tents look wonderful, flying their flags and there are plenty of wildflowers in bloom. We leave with the bride feeling happy and confident about the plans. Then on to our rental house where we unpack and eventually meet up with Will’s family who is staying with us. The house is everything we’d hoped and the sunshine continues through the day so that Wave and I do more swimming. After ten months of planning, here we are! Will’s best men and groomsmen and wives come for dinner, so we have a happy crowd for a casual dinner made by Will’s mom and Frank. Tonight, my son arrives and now our family is all together. Wave is very happy with a house full, even though, so far, no other kids. So much to be grateful for tonight.
