My son’s new apartment in Lebanon, NH has a lovely, grassy yard with a few bright flowers, including these tiger lilies. It was special moving him today. Up early, we helped him finish all his packing, we loaded the UHaul, swept and cleaned up behind him as we went along, and were on the road by about 10:30 a.m. heading North to New Hampshire, his new home where he’ll start his new job near Hanover as a clinician at a treatment center on Monday! Whew! Quick turnaround. The day started wet and grew bright and hot. We all drove in separate cars on the way up, but I rode home with Frank. I LOVE listening to a good long non-fiction book, This Vast Enterprise: A New History of Lewis and Clark, by Craig Fehrman, and it’s nice and long and well-narrated by a few different narrators. Listened the whole way there. So, he’s launched into this new venture and I didn’t get sad until we were saying goodbye in Lebanon. By then, Frank had already been through his sadness, so it was my turn. He’s quite happy and there’s nothing to be sad about. But we will miss having him be nearby, popping in. Frank and I are pretty tired tonight. We worked pretty hard, and Frank has been wonderful helping him get a new tv and other things. House is not so much quiet tonight, as Wave is home. That’s a pleasure and a balm.
