#NewThisDay Writing From My Photo Stream
August morning on the Charles
Spontaneity this morning. After I read a bunch of poems for background on the poem I’m working on, I went out feeling inspired with ideas for re-tackling my newest poem, and crossing the field on my walk I suddenly decided to go for a morning kayak instead. I took one down from the rack and set off. The herons were out, of course, all along the river, taking off and landing. The turtles gathered in sun on logs at the river’s edge. The birds flew to the tops of the trees. The sun heated me and I was very happy. Then I swam in the pool with Wave and we played. This afternoon I did some admin stuff and then sunk into a revision of my poem and realized instead of fretting that I might not know what to do or where to begin I just opened it and the changes came and I was happy. Then, my walk came in the late afternoon. Into the meadows where I could be with the wildflowers. After dinner, swam again with Wave. We must take summer before it leaves us! And kindergarten around the corner of August! Then, another exchange of poems with my friend and I shared my revision and I felt my progress and also saw more that I can do. Will do.
