Almost Autumn

Biggest joy of the day is walking Wave to the bus stop. Such a pleasure to see him mature and be so easy in the morning, and to be so eagerly off to school. The house is quiet without him tonight. After the bus stop I revised a poem and went for a good 5 mile walk before meeting with my poetry friend. I love my time with this friend. She each share a poem revision and talk about being writers and it’s very nourishing, this one-on-one chance to focus on each other. Other meetings, poetry, and then two client sessions on their memoir manuscripts, also very moving. Being with humans writing. Then Frank and I prepped dinner so we could host pickle, play pickle and sit down to dinner with everyone right after, which was fun. It grows dark earlier. A half moon bright as a hot white bulb rose in the dusky sky behind the trees. It was muggy, and then the air slowly cooled. We had a lovely dinner with Franci, Will, my nephew and his fiance and our friends Mike and Leanne. A special dinner conversation, as always. The craziness of this administration announces itself multiple times a day with a president who decides if a news organization produces news that says something he doesn’t like, just block it from being able to cover the White House. Because he thinks the White House, because he thinks the whole country and any desirable part of the world belongs to him.
