#NewThisDay Writing From My Photo Stream
Still the rain. And I woke up late, and so did the boy and his mother. I somehow got him dressed quickly, his mother found his backpack, and he was out the door into my car in a light rain and we got to the bus stop before the bus and he likes to get on the bus and he’s cheerful under the umbrella. When I get back his mother and I have coffee and a long talk in the quiet house. Monday morning hustle. I decided to walk a long walk with my sticks and I set out in a light rain and my dry sneakers quickly wet. I went in a big circle I haven’t walked before, seven miles by the end of it and I was glad. A great ramble and went past the river and the foliage shiny and wet. I am listening to a book on Vermeer now that I’m done rereading (i.e. listening) to the Georgia O’Keeffe biography again. River running faster. Brook filled in. Enter, sun. Please. Soon. I am a fan of the ferns going gold. Started in on a new poem. Together Frank and I made Wave dinner. Franci face timed from Hawaii where she is having a very good honeymoon. On my walk I see that I walked both sides of the river, over the bridge by my house and then over the next bridge that crosses north, then up the other side, watching the river collect its water.
